The North Carolina Theta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon came to Davidson on May 20th, 1883, making it one of the oldest fraternities at Davidson College. SAE hosts an annual Alumni Weekend oyster roast in addition to a yearly philanthropy event, recently named "Block Party," which has benefitted a wide variety of organizations, including Testicular Cancer Research and the Special Olympics. The men of SAE pride themselves on being True Gentlemen and on their exemplary scholarship and service.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity was founded at the University of Alabama on March 9, 1859 and all Brothers strive to follow the code of The True Gentleman in all aspects of life. Their colors are purple and gold, and SAE's mascot is a lion.
